As a father, homeowner, taxpayer, and proud Woonsocket resident of 15 years, I am committed to serving the community that my family and I call home,” he said in a release.
“Community involvement has always been important to me. I volunteer as a coach with Woonsocket Parks and Recreation, volunteer at the Stadium Theatre, and support local organizations and events throughout the city,” he added. “These experiences have strengthened my connection to our residents and given me a deeper appreciation for the challenges and opportunities facing Woonsocket.”
As an independent candidate seeking a nonpartisan seat, said Flynn, “I believe voters should focus on a candidate’s qualifications, vision, and commitment to the community. My priorities include strengthening public safety, promoting fiscal responsibility, supporting local businesses, addressing homelessness with compassion and accountability, and working toward the closure of the incinerator.”
Public safety is my top priority. As Woonsocket continues to grow, our police, fire, and rescue departments must have the staffing and resources necessary to grow with it. Increasing calls for service and concerns about crime place greater demands on the men and women responsible for protecting our neighborhoods. I support adding police officers, firefighters, and rescue personnel to strengthen coverage, improve response times, and ensure help is available when residents need it most. A growing community cannot expect our first responders to continually do more with less. Investing responsibly in public safety means protecting our families, supporting our first responders, and building a safer Woonsocket.
